The Junkies’ choice:
INFECTED

Junkie Poll III

The Damn Dirty Junkies have spoken. We needed a new title for INFECTION, and of the names posted in the above graphic, Junkies choose INFECTED as the new name. I, your humble servant (me, humble, now THAT is a laugh …) am following your wise contributions.

You guys had some AMAZING name suggestions, many of which I’ve filed away for future novels. So in ten years, when I have taken over the world, if you see your title on a Sigler novel (assuming, of course, you haven’t been cleansed by one of my takeover pogroms), you can throw me an email. Beers are on me.

Seriously, Junkies, we had 627 votes in less than 38 hours. Thank you for the fast response. If you’re behind the times on this story, I left the original post and call the comments in place. Just click “more” to read all about it.

ORIGINAL POST:

Junkies - it appears that INFESTED is not available. Some dude who made a direct-to-DVD movie in 2002 called INFESTED claims to be making a sequel. This smells a lot like cybersquatting to me, but Rogue Pictures is taking the high road and asked me to come up with a new name for the hardcover novel due on April 1. They want to make the movie title the same as the book title (that’s just plain good marketing). So, I call upon all of you!

I need something with that spooky sense of impending doom, but still somehow subtle. Picture the title with some dark, ominous book cover hinting at lots (and lots) of violence, and you get the feel. You guys know the story, let’s see what you think of these:

INFECTION needs to be re-named, what should we call it?

Ok, First I hump Sigler’s brain.
That aside……..this battle is crap.
Brilliant writers should NEVER have to fight for a damn thing.the end.com.org.info.net

It should just be.

Holy crap, MUST I name the shitty books I have read? OMG.

sick

Sick would catch my Borders trolling eye….do you hear me Scott, you beautiful fucker?

Sick is scary
Sick is everything from the common cold to HIV to pancreatic cancer….dig?

Take that for what it’s worth from dumb Atlanta girl.

Waista

How about Festation? It’s not actually a word, but it gets used as a contraction of infestation. It also sounds like a nasty combination of festering and infection. I can’t find any books of movies of the same name. There’s a band though:

Marcus T

I think that ITCH would be a better name.

Noles

Cool idea- getting fan input- other authors never do this sh!t. Thanks for asking.

Xenophanes

Infected and Pathogen are my top choices.

Hans Voss

How about something like INVASIVE.

Andrew Herron

call it “save perry’s balls” lol, then the sequel could be something about saving the world’s balls…

on a more serious note, there are a few more options I can think of. You could switch the title focus to the triangles with “Rise of the Triangles”, “Triangle Infection”, that sort of thing.

Or you could go for something more mysterious, basing the title around the Ki (that was who tried to come through the portal, if I recall). Even though we don’t see them until the end, they are what the entire book leads up to. I can’t come up with any title suggestions for them though.

Zebulon

Alienation?

Artem Baguinski

JCRiverRat

I like FESTATION too!!!

The Supreme Narutard

This is all well and good, scot, but your last bloodcast was posted on August 12, 2007, and we need a fix!
