I love your work. I'll start with that. But the premise of this story made me upset. a government judicial system will always have massive amounts of falsely accused "criminals". The US does for certain. Also, the US laws regarding "sex offenders" is incredibly vague. Some people have been convicted of sex crimes for urinating in public, or for being 18 and having consensual sex with a 17 year old girlfriend. Sorry to preach, but I feel strongly about our messed up justice system. This is a very scary SciFI story.

It's not really the computer, it's GarageBand that's the resource hog. The extra RAM will really help. I'm a certified Apple tech, and also have a computer call-in radio show. I use a mix of Audacity (free) and Amadeus Pro ($40) rather than GarageBand on my 12" PowerBook in the studio, and my iMac G5 at home.

An interesting story, but I noticed what seemed to be one logical flaw to it: Once any given pattern is placed onto someone's face what's to stop them from having their entire face covered by the tattoo-colour, thus obscuring which particular crime the person was being tattooed for? (Or even adding another pigment, thus hiding even the original category of crime?)

At the very least, this would seem to change the protagonist's problem from 'having a facial tattoo making him an outcast' to 'having a bright red (or very black) face'.

Scott said:

"And the GrooveTubes PF-1 pop filter. I also recommend this. It’s metal, so it’s sturdy and cleans easy - doesn’t get all gunky like fabric pop filters..."

We it me, or was anyone else thinking about splashed blood or gore hitting the GrooveTube PF-1?

"The blood...the graymatter...it all just wipes off! It even dabs right out of these spill resistent pants!" - Scott in his Gore Studio / closet.

You rock Scott.
Thanks for the free entertainment. Now let's kick your career into high gear! Get in the closet, BEEOCH! The Rookie II...I can't wait.

Excellent story. Legal system based sci-fi is a really interesting sub-genre, and this story is a really fascinating look at a practice that most of us would be okay with from the other side of the looking glass. Anyway, I don't think the procedure would be feasible within the US system, simply because an irreversible procedure can't really be justified if innocence is possible. Fantastic story, and the best of Bloodcast yet.
