The Rookie Second Life announcement
December 4, 2006 _ Scott Sigler

The Kraken’s post-game press conference will be held in Second Life, Thursday December 7 at 7:00pm PT (10:00 pm EST). That’s right, you can interview Quentin Barnes, and if your question is good, you may hear him thinking about it in the following week’s episode. The interview will take place on the Touchback - real as heck in Second Life. Listen to this MP3 for instructions!

I’ve never wanted to watch American football…but I’m dosing myself up on Coffee to watch it tonight in the UK, as the NFL is playying on the tube.
If it’s anything like the brutal contact sport you’re writing about Scott, dammit I might just enjoy it more than Rugby *upper crust British gasp*

That is SO J.C. Hutchins’ voice!

Scott!

You do realize that SL is having major problems with their database right now, right?

No one can search in-world. You should provide a landmark to someone designated within your junkies—er listening audience who can be an in-world liaison to get the landmark to the people.

That is the only known way of searching right now. You can search for people, but not places or events.

And since anyone who doesn’t already know their way around SL may be confused with it, it would be helpful to have someone available to show them the ropes.

I’m just saying. :)

Update: You can provide a name of someone in SL who can have the landmark in their “Picks” on their profile and people can get to the gathering that way.

I’ll post a clear link to the Second Life connection right here in this blog. Just keep yer eyes peeled.
